July is Parks and Recreation Month! First established in 1985, July is dedicated to recognizing the importance of parks and recreation in promoting physical and mental well-being, fostering community connections, and enhancing the overall quality of life.

It’s also a month to recognize and celebrate the many park and recreation professionals and volunteers who maintain the country's local, state, and community parks.

In addition to many Wilderness areas, National Reserves, and National Monuments, Idaho has 30 state parks.
