The Outdoor Recreation Satellite Account 2024

On March 5th, 2026, U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis released new statistics measuring the outdoor recreation economy through the end of 2024, with state-level data available for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The outdoor recreation economy increased 2.7 percent nationally in 2024, with Idaho’s share of state GDP increasing 3.5 percent, contributing a total of $4.5 billion to the state economy and supporting 39,228 jobs.
